Entrance matting from 3M has been specified for use across 254 B&Q Supercentres and 30 B&Q Warehouses in the UK.

3M products were selected because the company was able to supply a range of highly effective entrance matting solutions appropriate for the differing requirements of individual stores within the group.

Nomad™ Aqua matting retains more moisture

Products from the Nomad™ Aqua 8500 matting range were specified for use in both the B&Q Warehouses and B&Q Supercentres. This range is unique from standard carpet style matting due to the use of two types of fibre in its construction.

The dual combination removes dirt and moisture particles and retains them within the body of the mat. This advanced fibre technology allows Nomad™ Aqua 8500 matting to remove and retain significantly more moisture than conventional matting products, making it ideal for high traffic areas in variable weather conditions.

Garden Centre entrance tough challenge

A tougher challenge was posed at exits to B&Q’s exterior garden centre areas where significantly greater quantities of soiling are anticipated. Because 3M manufactures a complete range of entrance matting solutions, the company was able to advise on the most suitable products and in this case Nomad™ Terra 6250 All Seasons matting provided the answer.

This is a durable, trolley resistant, vinyl matting that works with a scraping action to remove dirt, dust and moisture. The grooved construction of the mat is able to hold large quantities of dirt within it while still providing effective cleaning action. Both products have the added advantage of being easy to clean and maintain by on site cleaning contractors which was another factor in their specification.
