3M’s recently launched 3M™ Nomad™ Aqua 9500 matting has been installed in a number of NatWest branches.

With its advanced dual fibre technology and random decorative pattern, Nomad™ Aqua 9500 matting was able to combine aesthetic requirements with outstanding performance and durability.

A two stage approach

In most cases, a dual matting solution was used to address the high traffic needs. The first stage used 3M Nomad™ Terra 9100 matting. It was fitted directly inside the entrance. This removes heavy dirt and moisture. It has a robust vinyl composite with grooved construction, so it works as a scraping mechanism. It is able to hold and conceal large quantities of dirt.

The second stage used Nomad™ Aqua 9500 matting. It provides an attractive carpet design. The combination of coarse and fine loop construction fibres allows for the more effective removal and concealment of both dirt and moisture.

Performs well and looks good

The aesthetic design also appealed to NatWest. Its decorative effect was able to complement surrounding flooring and furnishings, contributing to a more attractive and welcoming interior to benefit both staff and customers. Nomad™ Aqua 9500 matting now offers a contemporary pattern in a full range of colours.

Although usually specified as part of a 3M entrance matting system, Aqua 9500’s unique composition and durability also enables it to be used as a stand alone method. In the case of NatWest, the high performance abilities of the Aqua 9500 matting met the varied requirements of specific branches where a single matting option proved to be the optimal solution. Able to offer a one stop carpet style matting, it was also used to meet the demands of high traffic locations in smaller branches, where limited floor space restricts the use of a full scale entrance matting system.
